When available, the "Library Information" tab will include the contact information of someone who can help.
Video Tutorials¶
If you need more support with your library research, click on the "Videos" link in the upper right corner of your LIRNPortal/Online library to access instructional video tutorials.
Tips for Reporting Technical Issues¶
When reporting a technical issue, please include as much information as possible. Once LIRN is contacted with an issue from your institution, the more information we have allows us to fix the issue more quickly.
- Please explain what you were trying to do when the problem occurred as well as the steps you took to arrive at the error,
- The URL from copied from the navigation/search bar,
- Your time and time zone, and
- Details of any error message displayed.
Screenshots are extremely useful. Below are instructions for taking screenshots on a variety of platforms.
Ask a Librarian (LIRN Librarian Service subscribers only)¶
If your institution subscribes to LIRN's librarian service, students, faculty and staff will contact their team of LIRN librriaans for any library related needs. There will be an orange button in the lower right corner of the LIRNPortal or an email address provided to you to contact your team of LIRN librarians. Students, faculty, and/or staff contact your LIRN librarians for assistance with research questions, database troubleshooting help, and other library operational needs.
Click the orange button to open a form. Please fill in as much detail as possible. Click "Submit" to send your question, and a LIRN librarian will respond quickly during posted online reference hours.
Tip
Click the "x" in the upper right of the form to close it, if you do not wish to submit a question.
